Service Description

The Intermediate Literacy Club weaves together a multifaceted literacy experience. Through hands-on activities, experiments, observations, and creative tasks, learners will get to explore scientific principles, philosophical ideas, and artistic expressions. Whether it's building a mini-robot, conducting chemistry experiments, or creating artwork inspired by our reading, there's always something for every reader. In this Literacy Club learners should expect to: - Participate in a series of weekly online meet-ups with the option of also participating in an additional weekly group tutoring session - Receive and read engaging novels and texts - Complete and collaborate in literacy activities that cater to varying intelligences and abilities - Conduct STEAM activities, experiments, or observations - Develop and improve literacy skills from the Learning to Read and Reading to Learn Phases of the TMBUK2 Reading Framework - Develop motivation, confidence and critical thinking skills Notes and Terms • This literacy club consists of 8 weekly one hour sessions as well as an optional weekly group tutoring session • Literacy Kits include novel(s), activity materials, and basic stationary • Schedule is final and sessions cannot be rescheduled • Fee for literacy club is non-refundable
