Service Description

“We know what we are, but not what we may be.” ― William Shakespeare What is identity? How do we construct identity? And how do we negotiate our identity with that of others? These are some of the questions that will be explored in this literacy club. Learners will analyze the role that identities play in our personal and social lives. In TMBUK2 Literacy Clubs, learners can expect to engage in any of the following: • Receive and read engaging novels and texts; • Participate in thoughtfully moderated discussions, dialogues and/or debates; • Complete and collaborate in literacy activities that cater to varying intelligences and abilities • Conduct STEAM activities, experiments, or observations • Develop motivation, confidence and critical thinking skills Notes and Terms • This literacy club consists of 8 one hour sessions • Literacy Kits, novels, and key materials for activities will be provided • Fee for literacy club is non-refundable • Schedule is final and sessions cannot be rescheduled
